About ALBERR

It is a privilege to be the Founder and CEO of ALBERR Foundation UK. My passion for helping people in need began when I was only four years old. As I grew older, that compassion became more than a feeling; it began to shape my education, my career and eventually my life's journey.

I studied Pharmacy in Egypt because I wanted to help patients and make a difference in people's lives. After coming to the UK, I continued my academic journey and completed a PhD in cancer research in 2018, where my research focused on investigating new approaches to cancer treatment. My motivation remained the same: to contribute towards improving the lives of people affected by serious illness.

During this period, my humanitarian journey was also developing. I fundraised for people affected by the crisis in Syria and donated the funds raised to UNICEF. I supported fundraising for a local mosque in Northern Ireland and helped collect clothes and donations for refugees and families in need. In 2020, I joined the NHS, continuing my commitment to serving others through healthcare. Alongside my NHS career, I studied for a Master's degree in Clinical Informatics at the University of Manchester.

It was during this chapter of my life that ALBERR began. I initially established ALBERR as a Community Interest Company, raising funds and delivering charitable activities for people in need. The response from our supporters was remarkable. Seeing the trust, generosity and encouragement of our donors and volunteers inspired me to take a much bigger step: establishing ALBERR as a registered charity.

Registering ALBERR Foundation UK with the Charity Commission was one of the most important steps in our journey. I wanted ALBERR to grow into a professional, responsible and transparent UK charity, operating within a strong governance framework and meeting the standards expected of a registered charitable organisation. Since then, our work has continued to grow. We have supported people facing poverty, conflict and hardship internationally, while also developing projects to support communities here in the UK.

But one of the greatest rewards of this journey has been the people I have met along the way. I have had the privilege of meeting volunteers who generously give their time, donors who trust us with their contributions, and supporters who share our belief that together we can make a difference. Their kindness and commitment have strengthened my passion and encouraged me to dream even bigger for ALBERR.

I am proud to be a British citizen and proud to lead a British charity that helps people in need both here in the UK and around the world.

As Founder and CEO, I am committed to ensuring that ALBERR will always be guided by the Islamic and British values that are central to who we are: equality, respect, caring, compassion, dignity and honesty. These values will guide how we treat our beneficiaries, donors, volunteers, employees, partners and the communities we serve.

Our doors and our compassion are open to people regardless of their background. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and every donation entrusted to us must be handled with honesty, responsibility and care.

My dream for ALBERR Foundation UK is to continue growing into an organisation capable of creating meaningful and lasting change. I want us to reach more vulnerable families, feed more people, provide more clean water, educate more children, care for more orphans and develop sustainable projects that can benefit communities for generations.

There is still so much that we can do. With the dedication of our team, the generosity of our donors and the support of our volunteers, I hope that ALBERR will continue to grow and make a real difference in the lives of people who need us most.
